The US Attorney's Office in Lafayette says an Acadiana drug trafficking ring leader will spend nearly twenty years in federal prison.
35 year old Joseph Alexander was sentenced Friday in federal court.
Federal agents had been investigating for years and alexander pleaded "guilty" in 2008.
Alexander spear-headed an elaborate drug network stretching from Mexico to Acadiana.
Sources say drugs were distributed in Lafayette and New Iberia.
The federal court says Alexander hired B And M Auto Sound and Four by Four in Lafayette to build compartments that were hidden inside of cars to transport the drugs.
Federal Agents say business was so good that B And M put Alexander on their pay roll.
