Lafayette City Parish Council To Vote On Whether To Keep Or Eliminate Traffic Cams

Monday, May 14, 2012 - 7:08pm

Tomorrow a big vote will be taken on Lafayette's traffic cameras

The city parish council will decide to ax the program all together or keep it going with some fine tuning.

Some say the Redflex traffic cams and speed vans are good for the city because they get drivers to slow down.

Then there are others who say the whole system violates state laws.

There are presently 12 intersections in Lafayette that are monitored by traffic cameras but 17 other locations may get them too.

The Lafayette Parish Council will vote on the fate of the Redflex system tomorrow.
