Government vehicle's tracked soon?

Thursday, October 8, 2009 - 3:29pm

LAFAYETTE— Officials say city owned vehicles might become GPS tracked soon.

They say too often city vehicles are used for personal business.

Officials say the system will pay for itself, cutting overall expenses.

A screen will be able to tell when vehicles sit idle, leave the city or parish, and much more.

Parish President Joey Durel is for the tracking system, and is trying to get approval from the city council.
