There could be a lot more to the former State Fire Marshall's quick exit.
 

Tuesday Butch Browning announced his retirement.

 Brownings announcement was on Wednesday followed by a major investigation that went public.

"we've confirmed that the inspector general is actively investigating browning..and allegations include serious things.. like illegal gun sales"

Browning says that's a flat out lie.

Another allegation is that Browning donned military ribbons on his uniform even though he never served.

This act is a federal crime.
