Governor Bobby Jindal is on a mission to fight the flu.
And yesterday, he came to Lafayette to do it.
The Governor launched the statewide flu awareness campaign. He even got his vaccine while he was there.
The Centers For Disease Control are expecting this flu season to be even worse, with an increase in the number of illnesses, hospital stays, and deaths.
But Jindal says the state's prepared.
"We have more supply than demand; 89,000 last year... trying for 110,000 this year," said Jindal.
The seasonal flu shot will not protect you against H1N1, but Jindal says the swine flu vaccine is coming soon.
