Chris Roy has dreams of pole vaulting in the Olympics
Cajuns sophomore Track & Field athlete Chris Roy isn't scared of heights. In fact, he lives for them.
Roy is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week for his performance in the pole vault at last weekend's LSU Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge, where he jumped a personal best 17' 2-1/3".
The Breaux Bridge native has hopes of one day making it to the Olympics. Roy has already qualified for this year's NCAA Meet. His coach, Pat Arceneaux, says Roy will most likely break the school record for highest pole vault this weekend when UL travels to Northwestern State.
