Brawlin' at Blackham hits town this weekend

Wednesday, April 15, 2009 - 6:59pm

"Bad Chad" Broussard knows good fighting. So when Broussard told me this afternoon that he could hardly wait for Saturday night's Brawlin' at Blackham main event fight with Breaux Bridge's Jarred LeBlanc, it was hard to keep from getting excited.

Live Professional Boxing and MMA return to Lafayette this Saturday night at Blackham. Doors open at 6 and the action starts at 7:30. LeBlanc will face off in his second main event fight in his hometown in less than six months. LeBlanc is 4-0 in his career, including 3 knockouts.

Another bright young fighter to keep an eye on Saturday night is Rayne product, Mason Menard. Menard holds a 3-1 career record and all three of his wins came by knock out.

Both Menard and LeBlanc say they've been training hard for this Saturday's event. LeBlanc told me he dropped close to 15 pounds in order to fight at the 154 pound limit.
