Arrest made after body found in burned out car
UPDATE: An arrest has been made in a case from earlier this week. It's regarding the body that was found in the back of a burned out vehicle.
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — UPDATE: The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's office tells NBC33 an arrest has been made in connection with the body found in a burned-out vehicle on the levee near Gardere Lane. Thursday at 2:00 PM, EBR Sheriff Sid Geautreaux and State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson will announce who has been arrested. Stay with NBC33 News for updates.
The Ponchatrain Levee Police were patrolling the levee a quarter mile south of Gardere Ln. early this morning when they discovered a completely burned up vehicle on the west side of the levee. A close inspection of the vehicle revealed a body in the trunk of the car.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Detectives were notified and responded to the scene and observed and unidentifiable body in the trunk of the burned out 4-door vehicle.
Detectives canvassed the area and were able to determine that the vehicle was parked on the levee sometime on April 28, around 4:00 p.m.
At this time the sex, age, race, or cause of death of the victim is undetermined.
