A South Florida teen is lucky to be alive after a run in with a hungry gator.

Fred Langdale was swimming in the Caloosahatchie river with some friends and says the gator came out of nowhere.and attacked him.

Instead of putting up a fight he said he let the gator take his right arm as his buddies watched in horror.
