Six people displaced after early morning fire in Port Allen

 An early morning fire in West Baton Rouge Parish has left six people without a home today. The American Red Cross is out assisting those residents in Port Allen.

We’re told the blaze started at around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 14. It happened on North 14th Street at a four-unit apartment complex.

The fire started in one unit but spread and damaged three other units as well. Two of the units were deemed uninhabitable once the fire was extinguished. In total there were four adults and two children who were in those homes when the fire started. We’re told no one was injured.

The American Red Cross is currently assisting the individuals who are now displaced from the fire. That includes providing temporary housing, food, clothing, and cleanup kits.
