Shaquille O Neal is now a doctor

The former NBA great and LSU Tiger received his PHD in Education this weekend from Barry University in Miami.

 This accomplishment has taken the star 4 and a half years  but in the end, Shaquille finished with a three-point-eight GPA.

Shaq credits his parents for motivating him to continue pursuing an education.

"One thing that can never be taken from you is your education. i mean i know i couldn't play basketball forever and they always told me that you have your education and you will always have something to fall back on."

O'neal retired last year after playing 19 NBA seasons.

He left LSU in 1992, to enter the NBA Draft but came back 8 years later to finish his Bachelors Degree in General Studies.

Shaq also earned his Masters in 2005.

Shaq says it may be Law School next year.
