The lights are slowly coming back on.

At last check a vast majority of people in Morgan City had their power restored.

It took some 18 hours to get the lights back on and on a day when temperatures flirted with 100 degrees the city's mayor says its close to a worst case scenario.

The Mayor says the dawn to dusk curfew will be reinstated if the city is not able to get power turned back on.
