NFL Players Association Challenges Suspension Of Four Players

Friday, May 4, 2012 - 6:13pm

The NFL Players Association filed a grievance with the NFL challenging their decision to suspend four players in connection with the Saints Bounty Scandal.

In the report filed last night, the Players Association claims that the NFL cannot hand out punishment for actions that occurred before the new Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed.

The complaint alleges that only ACBA System Arbitrator, not Goodell, can punish players.

The Saints Bounty Program happened between 2009 and 2011.

The latest bargaining agreement was signed last August.

The NFL Players Association said they would vigorously protect and pursue all options and protect the players.
