The horse farm is about to be transformed into a place families can enjoy.
One hundred acres of green space just off Johnston Street near the Winwood Shopping Center is set to be turned into a public park perfect for biking hiking and family fun.
It's thanks to a deal finalized by the Lafayette City Parish government and UL Lafayette.
The university has finally decided to sell the land because both sides will come out winners for the horse farm.
The Lafayette consolidated government will hand over the eight acre youth park near campus along with close to six milliion dollars cash.
We are told that new space will be used to expand UL's campus.
