Emergency officials in Assumption Parish say they've noticed the sinkhole has grown slightly but it's not as deep.
Officals continue to monitor the situation and are taking air samples.
They are also cleaning up diesel found around the sinkhole though the water supply is safe.
The evacuation order is still in effect but people who are still there will be notified before drilling begins on the relief well.
However the work isn't ready to begin just yet.
The Texas Brine Company moved 10 flatbed trucks with rig equipment to Assumption Parish today.
Louisiana State Troopers escorted the trucks along I-10 through several state highways and ending up on La 70 near the site of the abandoned salt cavern.
Drilling will take at least one more day to bring in the final 15 trucks.
Crews will work through the night to begin assembling part of the rig.
