An Acadiana copper thief has been caught.
The St. Landry Sheriff's Office says Walter Clyde Ryder was booked on theft charges in the Melville area.
The arrest comes after a July twenty third complaint about more than two hundred FEMA trailers being stripped of their electrical power wiring and cords.
In a search of Ryder's property detectives found two large containers with camper electrical cords and shaved copper wiring.
Ryder admitted to the crime and was later released on a two thousand dollar bond.
