Community Forum Imagining Alternative Futures for Acadiana
November 14, 2012 — The Forum looks at what Lafayette parish's future might look like in twenty years if we stay on the same course as we are today. Participants at the forum get to propose and explore alternatives to this likely future. The Lafayette Community Government Comprehensive Coordinator loves the idea of this project for our community.
"You know, we all perceive Acadiana being a very special place. What's important to me is keeping it special."--Steven Oubre
Oubre went on to say that the project hopes to define how this parish will grow both sustainably and economically. He hopes participants will leave with a vision of what they see this parish being about in twenty years.
This project's exhibit will be at the South Regional Library tomorrow at noon, and East Bayou Baptist Church at six o'clock tomorrow night. If you can't make it tomorrow, it will be at the Heymann Center this Friday at two o'clock and again at the Holy Rosary Institute Saturday starting at nine am.
