Lafayette police arrest local business woman

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have arrested the owner of A Little Something Extra/Lagniappe, an advertising business, for failing to provide services.

In August of 2010, Lafayette Police began receiving complaints from several businesses in Lafayette regarding money being paid to “A Little Something Extra” to create advertisement for their businesses and no services were received. A total of 8 businesses filed complaints, and wish to pursue charges in the matter. On November 9, 2010, the owner of the business, 57-year-old Melissa M. Arnaud of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with 7 counts of Felony Theft and 1 count of Misdemeanor Theft. Arnaud was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Detectives are asking any business owner who may have had dealings with Arnaud and did not receive services to contact the Lafayette Police Department at 291-8600.
