BATON ROUGE (Fox 15) - Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards has been released from a federal prison in Oakdale, LA. He's now at a Baton Rouge halfway house.

Fox 15 News Lafayette was on site as Edwards arrived at the Ecumenical House on Cezanne Drive in Baton Rouge. When asked how it felt to be back home, Edwards said he wasn't sure yet.

In 2002, Edwin Edwards was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted on racketeering charges. These charges surrounded the awarding of state licenses for riverboat casinos.

Edwards checked in to the Ecumenical House around 7 Thursday morning. Count on Fox 15 News Lafayette for continuing coverage on this story.
