A New Iberia couple was arrested and accused of severely burning a 13-month-old baby with scalding water.

According to the Iberia Sheriff's Office, the baby boy suffered severe burns and is in critical but stable condition.

The infants mother, 25-year-old Chiquita Bell, and her boyfriend are facing charges of second degree cruelty to a juvenile.
