Acadiana is mourning the death of a well-known doctor tonight. Doctor Charles Henry Stewart died Saturday, Jan. 22 with his family by his side.

He's survived by his wife Adrien of 53 years, and his children and grandchildren. Stewart delivered more than ten-thousand babies to families here in this area.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Martin and Castille funeral home.
