Jeff Beimfohr
FNL News Anchor/Managing Editor
E-mail Jeff Passion!!! That describes Jeff Beimfohr’s love of broadcasting. And he’d better love it, because he’s been doing it a long time. Initially, Jeff’s love for and involvement in sports led to a career as a sportscaster. He worked in varied markets, both small and large, culminating in a four year stay at CNN in Atlanta. While there, Jeff was a sports anchor on both the CNN parent network, and CNN Sports Illustrated (a now defunct 24 hour sports network in partnership with Sports Illustrated magazine). His sportscasting career produced several honors, including multiple Associated Press awards for best sportscast in his market. About four years ago, Jeff decided to make the switch to news and he’s glad he did. Most of the resources in a newsroom are dedicated to the news product. That’s creating new personal energy, and that’s reflected in Jeff’s approach to anchoring Fox News Louisiana: be informative, be right and get the facts, but present them in such a manner that it’s entertaining for the viewer. You can see all that reflected in Fox News Louisiana’s 9 pm show each weeknight. Jeff's love of sports has never gone away. Racquetball is his activity of choice these days. He’s held a state number one ranking, has been ranked as high as number six on a national level, and has won several regional and state tournaments. Shortly after starting at FNL, Jeff became a Louisiana State Singles Champion. Racquetball and Fox News Louisiana: both are hard-hitting, quick and competitive. Jeff is married to Christy. They have one daughter named Chelsea. Most Popular |
